Library Rules

  • Library card will be issued to each student at the time of admission.
  • The card must be duly signed by the Librarian.
  • Library cards are non-transferable.
  • The books will be issued and returned on prescribed days.
  • Reference books may be consulted at any time.
  • College teachers, bonafide college students are entitled to get books.
  • Faculty member may get books from one to two month (re-issued after that)
  • Students may get books for 14 days.
  • Teaching staff can get upto 5 books
  • BS level students can get upto 2 books at a time

The books of the following nature cannot be issued in any ease.

  • Reference books
  • Specially preserved books
  • Magazines
  • Dictionaries
  • Thesis
  • Newspapers/Journals
  • A fine of Rs.10 per day, per book would be charged in case of not returning the book on due date.
  • The lost or wasted book/ series of books will have to be replaced with the same new ones or the actual price is to be paid or if the book is not currently available, in the market, a fine will be imposed as per college rules.
  • Books issued just before the summer vacations must be returned to the library before vacations.
  • The librarian must be reported about the lost card. The duplicate card will be issued after depositing Rs. 50 as fine.
  • The students cannot interchange the library books.
  • The college leaving students can get the clearance chit after they have returned the library books along with the card to the librarian.
  • Complete silence must be observed in the library.
  • The library will remain closed for physical verification during every July, All the books must be returned during that period.
  • The act of removing a page/picture out of a book is severely dealt with.
  • No student is allowed to remove the reading material from stands/tables etc.
  • The library is not responsible for the loss of personal belongings.
  • Students are directed to keep their personal books/belongings in the luggage
  • Use of cell phone is not allowed.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited.
